Every year, millions and billions are spent to fix just 500 of over 10,000 schools nationwide; leaving many teachers to revamp their learning spaces on their own.
MYLES aims to facilitate this through the four phases of Ruang2Gather.
Why do we do this?
To transform and optimise learning spaces through community-driven design.
To empower educators, students, and local communities in co-designing their educational environments.
To build cross-sector collaborations between schools, local businesses, and professional networks.
To create scalable and replicable models for redesigning learning spaces across Malaysia.
Refreshed learning spaces tailored to community needs.
Collaborative projects involving the community.
Publication of case studies and media showcasing transformed spaces.
Incentive programmes to initiate or scale similar community-led initiatives.
A network of volunteers and professionals advocating for better learning environments.
Community engagement workshops and feedback sessions.
Volunteer expertise (educators, architects or designers, students, local artisans).
Strategic partnerships with corporate sponsors or local businesses for material sponsorship.
Funding/grants for facilitation, incentives, and promotional activities.
Tools and resources (design kits, facilitation guides, publications on project outcomes).

At MYLES, we believe that learning environments directly shape how students engage, grow, and thrive. Yet many communities across Malaysia still rely on outdated or underutilised spaces. Through community-driven design, we help transform classrooms, libraries, and even suraus into vibrant learning hubs.
