At MYLES, we believe that learning environments shape how students engage, grow, and thrive. But in many communities across Malaysia, underutilised or outdated spaces are limiting potential. MYLES is a grassroots initiative that transforms these spaces - libraries, classrooms, even suraus -into vibrant hubs for learning through the power of community-driven design.
We bring together educators, students, parents, local artisans, and businesses to co-create spaces that reflect the needs and spirit of their communities. Our approach isn’t just about physical transformation; it’s about fostering sense of ownership, empathy, and responsibility for for an improved teaching and learning experience.
With pilot projects already underway in Tamparuli, Kangar, and Banun, MYLES is proving that impactful change doesn’t have to wait for large budgets. By offering strategic collaboration, small incentives, and public advocacy, we unlock resources from local businesses and volunteers, ensuring sustainability beyond the initial effort.
Whether you're a potential sponsor, volunteer, or community partner, MYLES offers an opportunity to be part of a movement that redefines learning spaces and empowers communities. Let’s drives MYLES ahead - one mile at a time.

MYLES started as a personal journey driven by a desire to make learning environments more inclusive and engaging for all.
What began as small talks and volunteer projects quickly grew into a series of professional and probono initiatives involving passionate teachers, local designers, and community leaders.

The mission is to drive innovation in Malaysian learning spaces by fostering collaboration, celebrating local identities, and empowering communities to take ownership of the design process. This is fueled by the purpose to bring an equitable access to well-designed learning environments, regardless of socioeconomic backgrounds.
By listening to the voices of primary stakeholders such as students and teachers, MYLES advocates for an intentional transformation of learning spaces reflecting the needs and aspirations of the people who use them most.
The pilot project, Ruang2Gather, is grounded in participatory design workshops, hands-on engagement, and continuous feedback loops that build trust and shared ownership.
Starting from personal pursuits, MYLES is now a collective project that spans different regions and involve various team members, reflecting the diverse needs and potentials of the communities involved. By sharing our experiences and documenting every step, we hope to inspire other communities and assure them of the possibilities to embark on their own journeys of physical transformation. MYLES's Ruang2Gather approach has also led to the revitalisation of school spaces with plans to scale these efforts to other parts of Malaysia.
The journey of MYLES is just beginning. With each new collaboration, we aim to spark greater interest and investment in the potential of learning spaces to shape the future of education infrastructure in Malaysia. MYLES is hoped to evolve as a growing network of educators, designers, and community champions working hand in hand to refresh and reimagine learning environments across Malaysia.
Join us as we take Malaysian learning spaces a step further, one mile at a time.
